This is my post for # freewriters 2523 prompt no more authority hosted by @mariannewest

We have high power lines that cross our property and a couple of years ago we found a buzzard lying dead under it and a live buzzard sitting beside the dead one. My husband said it must be the dead ones mate, he said they mate for life. We think that maybe it flew into the powerlines and they are what killed it.

Since then this buzzard has hung around our home, it will sit in this tree or on top of the tall power pole. He drives one of the dogs crazy, the other dog couldn't care less about him/her being there. I feel bad for the buzzard, can you imagine the loss it must feel for it to stay here for that long?

I am no more authority on coins than anyone I know but I think there is something odd about the penny on the right, I think the date says 1917 but it is faint.

It is lighter in color and weight than the other penny, both are wheat backs.

It is thinner than the other penny, too. People say the condition is what makes a coin valuable so I doubt it is worth much more than a penny, but I am not a collector so I am just guessing. What do you think?

I was pulling through our gate and my husband yelled at me to stop, he came carrying this piece of snakeskin to me, he said it was hanging out of my bumper, I am not sure what kind of snake it belonged to but I am guessing a black or rat snake.

We feel sorry for the buzzard too! It's must be heavy carrying the burden alone!

Are there many snakes around your house?

I doubt the penny is worth more than any other heavily circulated wheatie. Wear hits the edge and the facial features first. But check with a coin shop to be sure.

I did not know that a coin could wear down like that but thinking about it, it is over 100 years old. I doubt I will ever have it looked at, I was only curious if anyone would know anything about it and you did. Thanks
