This is my post for #freewriters 2585 prompt official loser hosted by @mariannewest.
Have you ever heard the saying "I can't win for losing"? This is how I feel trying to save my pineapples. It would be simple if I had new soil to put in the pots. The problem is too much water but the water is not the problem. The soil has broken down to where now it is like mud and holds water like mud. If I could put new soil in them, it would flow through instead of staying in the pot. I have to get it dried out or I will lose them all.
A couple of days ago I moved my pineapple plants and moved them back when my husband said he would cap the sprinkler near them. Yesterday I was working in that area when the other two sprinklers came on and they both reached the pineapples, I forgot they all overlapped each other. I bet you can guess what I had to do.
I moved the the pineapples to the side that has our garden, but I just realized the water has been capped off to them for three days, they should be getting dry and I will need to uncap the sprinkler. I am beginning to feel like an official loser when it comes to trying to save my pineapples. The sprinklers only hit half of the big ones so I did not have as many of them to move, I do not lift them, I have a hook that I pull them with.
I could ask everyone I know to get me a bag of good soil for Christmas but that will not be enough to fill all the pots I have several in 15 gallon pots, I might get 3 or 4 changed out of it. That is what I need for them or find a place where nothing near them needs water and it has to be a sunny place, I am feeling defeated but, I will figure out a way to save them.
