This is my post for #freewriters 2570 prompt my Thanksgiving Day hosted by @mariannewest
I could not find a prompt for today so sticky but tasty will be it once again.
I asked my daughter to put a couple of decorations on the table, and she put all of them on it and wants them left there, I guess that is why I have an island in the kitchen. There will only be 4 of us sitting at the table, me, my oldest and her son, and my youngest so we can serve ourselves at the island and eat at the table. I like the food on the table and everyone sitting around it but I have learned to pick my battles.
I am sitting here remembering Thanksgiving Days of years gone by, it was always a big event in our house because every 4 years
it was also my Dad's birthday and he loved to tell everyone that he was born on Thanksgiving Day and then he had a Son born on Christmas Day.
Dad always did the cooking and he made the best yams topped with marshmallows, they were so sticky but tasty. This is the first time that I have not made them.
My oldest daughter got here with a cheesecake, she tried a new recipe, salted caramel but she said she made a mistake by not letting the cake cool before pouring the caramel on it, which let the caramel go to the bottom.
This chocolate delight was made by my youngest daughter. I am not sure of all of the ingredients but do know it has 2 packages of Oreo cookies, not sure as to how many Reeses cups, a package of peanut butter chocolate chips, and a jar of marshmallow fluff, also chocolate syrup. My grandson said it was too sweet.
The turkey was carved and enough was left for us to have some and send the rest home with our oldest.
The food was served and as always, there was plenty of leftovers.
And no one sat at the table, I guess it did not matter if she filled it with decorations.
