I married my "first" boyfriend when I was 17 and 4 years later we divorced, Then I remarried at 23 and divorced at 27. I thought 4 years was as long as I could be with one man.
There was one after my divorce from my 2nd husband that I can call a love bomb. It was my birthday and I got in my mind that I wanted to have sex on the beach and I told my now husband's wife that I was going to find a man and go to the beach, she told me to leave Bake alone, he was hers, I knew then their marriage was in trouble.
I went to Earls which is a bar and met a man, we talked and went to the beach, birthday wish fulfilled. We went back to my house and he wanted to spend the night, I agreed but he did not leave in the morning, he moved in with me, I did not ask him to move in with me, he spent the night and never left. It took me several months to get him out of my house. Lesson learned.
I was single and had been babysitting for my now husband when he divorced his wife. I had no idea he was interested in me until one day he showed up at my house without his daughter, he was with his sister and her boyfriend. I was still wondering why he was there.
I remember he asked me for a drink, I got a glass and was trying to put ice in it with him standing next to me. My hands were shaking and I did not understand why. That was 40 years ago, this December we will be married for 38 years, I guess I can make it past four years with a man.
