This is my post for #freewriters 2492 prompt zero interest in you hosted by @mariannewest

Let me read something I wrote to you and I start reading and she starts talking about some other topic. I quit reading and listened to her and when she was done talking she never asked me to finish reading what I wrote about. I let it go.

I listen to her telling me about her day but when I start telling her about my day she might listen for a few minutes and then she starts talking about something else she did, and we never get back to what I was saying.

I help her anytime she has a project to do but when I have asked for help she never shows up to help me.

I have one person in my life who does these things and tells me she would do anything for me, but nothing ever gets done.

I have never said anything to her because I do not think she realizes what she is doing. I do not think it is on purpose. But it leaves me thinking, you know how some people have zero interest in you?

I know she cares for me and I accept the way she is even though it does hurt my feelings. Sometimes I want to say something to her but I do not want to hurt her feelings because I know she will feel bad.

"She" is your daughter, isn't she?

Or, is this just a story with an "imaginary she"?

Anyway, some people around us have zero interest in us. But, they want full interest for them.

Not my daughter, it is one of my sisters, but I do not think she knows she does this. I hope she is not doing it with knowledge of it. That is why I do not say anything to her.

Sounds like a sister to me. I have one just like it. It's very hard.

@owasco you got it right.
Where have you been? I was thinking of you yesterday and hoping nothing bad has happened to you.

Oh, this is sad!
Whatever she has to say is far more important than what YOU have to say.
"I would do anything for you" - but doesn't.
I wish I could say "I have no idea what that's like," but my mom raised five daughters, all roughly a year apart in age, and she never went to finishing school as Jackie Bouvier Kennedy did, never taught us etiquette, and to this day, I may catch myself interrupting and not really listening.
You are very kind to LET IT GO and not confront her about it.
I hope it's only this one person in your life acting this way!

I really do not think she knows she does this, or that it bothers me.
