I find it funny to be writing about bees on Hive,
bees on Hive, bees on Hive, it gives me a chuckle,
and I am not sure why.
We wanted to leave them alone, but that was not to be
My daughter slapped them and stung her they did,
over and over, even on her eyelid,
she swelled and could barely open her eyes,
her hand was three times its size.
This made me think the bees had to meet their demise
But I did not want them to die, so I called a bee guy.
He came and honey we got, 3 gallons, yes that's a lot.
He left a box for the bees to enter and said he would come at night
when the bees were not so excite.
He did not come until the next night, he said they were very mad when he left, he wanted them to have a night to calm down. He put more in the box but was not sure if the queen was there or not, he left it another day in hopes she would find her way.
Today they started swarming, making a noise like they were humming.
They flew higher and higher, a tornado of bees, round and round they went, landing near a treetop. They are still there, if they go I do not know when or where I stand and stare, a sight to see, all bees.
I called the bee man, he said there was nothing we could do.
I felt bad because all of his work was mute.
He came for his box, they were flying around it,
he said they were taking the honey he put in it to entice them to go in.
I wondered how they could carry the sticky goo, do they eat it, and if so would it turn to poo.
We tried to give him an extra fifty but he would not take it, not many people would decline it, this was an inspiration to me, he worked hard to get the bees and now is left with nothing. He says sometimes that is the way it goes, he has even gotten them home, and then they decide to swarm.
He says now we need to climb under the house and scrape away
the honey that is left then spray bleach on the area before the ants find it.
There are still bees flying in and out, so we will not be doing this,
there is no doubt. Maybe in a day or two, we can clean before the ants move in, or since it is under the house, we let the ants feast that is all we can do in the least.
