For the prompt "take a sniff", it reminds me of a bad experience in my own home. Thinking I was losing it, I finally discovered the source of the horrible odor. Of course, my spouse couldn't smell a thing each time I mentioned it as though the smell was only for my displeasure. I share a ZAPFIC50 story related to my incident that I tell in exactly 50 words. The ZAPFIC50 challenge was created by @felt.buzz.
I based my 50-word story on @mariannewest's Freewrite prompt: 13 July 2024, @mariannewest's Freewrite Writing Prompt Day 2432: take a sniff. If you'd like to join in from the daily prompts, visit @mariannewest's Profile and view each day's freewrite prompt.
Below is my story.
"Go ahead, take a sniff!" Alexandria urged.
"I never implied you were lying," Jed retorted, his voice thick and unsteady.
It hit him the moment he stepped into the attic. Dead rodent sauteed in urine rushed up his nostrils, forcing him to retreat.
Once downstairs, he immediately telephoned the exterminator.
