Susie had been working in the lab for years trying to understand how various living creatures protect themselves from harm or incoming threat.
She had been attempting to use these defence mechanism to adapt them to a self defence mechanism that can be incorporated into the military uniform that the current soldiers are wearing. So that in the event of being captive by enemy for prisoner of war, these self defence mechanism can be triggered and aid them in escaping.
And one of such animals that Susie is studying is the meloe. A beetle that secretes oil as a defence mechanism. This oil is poisonous and can cause severe skin irritation. She carefully extract the beetle oil and start trying how to keep this on the uniform without causing harm to the one wearing it.
While it is something novel, till date Susie hasn't find a way to fully incorporate it without making the wearer feel itchy themselves.
