On a walk in Santa Ana from Táchira. Mountains and Tradition (English/Spanish)

A loving greeting to all my Hive friends, especially to those who every Wednesday post their adventures in this beautiful community. Today I want to share with you the wonderful experience that my dear @aly.squid and I had visiting the beautiful town of Santa Ana, in the Córdoba municipality. It was a tour full of culture, tradition, delicious food and lots of happiness. Since there is nothing we enjoy more than grabbing our motorcycle and riding down the road.

Our trip started when we left home on our adventurous little motorcycle. Santa Ana is about 55 kilometers from our community, about an hour, considering the state of the roads in this region. When we arrived in Santa Ana, we were greeted by a very pleasant atmosphere, full of warmth and hospitality. The last time we visited this beautiful town was in 2019 and it was beautiful to return and see its streets, its squares, its imposing church and its courts in excellent condition, well cared for by its people and the municipality. We went specifically to Santa Ana because we were invited to a cultural activity in which the community would celebrate the 91st birthday of one of its culturists.

So we immersed ourselves in the music, dance, local crafts and discovered the richness of the culture of the region. We had the opportunity to taste the delicious coffee grown and harvested by the local people. It was a real treat for our senses and an enriching experience. We saw some great artists, one of them Mrs. Olga Carvajal, a composer and singer of Andean music from the state of Tachira, who at 95 years old was present at the activity and sang one of her songs.

One of the most special moments of our tour was meeting Mr. Eusebio, who at 91 years of age is still making wooden spinning tops with a lathe that he built himself. His passion and dedication to his craft left us speechless and reminded us of the importance of keeping traditions alive. The spinning tops are one of the most important traditional toys in Venezuela, having in front of us one of the most important exponents of their manufacture was an honor.

After so much excitement, we decided to recharge our batteries at a small local kiosk where we enjoyed a delicious and inexpensive snack. For only $2.50 we bought 3 cakes, a package of tostones, two large coffees and a non-alcoholic malt. The simplicity and tastiness of the food reminded us of the beauty of life's simple pleasures and made us appreciate every moment of our trip even more.

Although Santa Ana del Tachira is only an hour away from where we live, the trip transported us to a different world, full of beautiful landscapes and streets full of history. The road surrounded by mountains gave us spectacular views and a sense of freedom and adventure that made us appreciate our beautiful land even more. We were delighted to see the Quinimari River surrounding the road in an imposing way.

Our trip to the municipality of Córdoba and the town of Santa Ana del Táchira was definitely an unforgettable experience that reminded us of the beauty and diversity of our country. With every step we took and every person we met, we discovered a new reason to love Venezuela and all the treasures it holds within. We will be back soon, as we want to do an interview with Mr. Eusebio and many other culturists we met on this beautiful day.

De paseo en Santa Ana del Tachira. Montañas y tradición (Ingles/Español)

Un saludo amoroso para todos mis amigos de Hive, especialmente a los que cada miércoles publican sus aventuras en esta hermosa comunidad. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes la maravillosa experiencia que tuvimos mi querida @aly.squid y yo visitando el hermoso pueblo de Santa Ana, en el municipio Córdoba. Fue un paseo lleno de cultura, tradición, comida deliciosa y mucha felicidad. Ya que no hay nada que disfrutemos más que agarrar nuestra moto y rodar por la carretera.

Nuestro viaje comenzó cuando salimos de casa en nuestra pequeña moto aventurera. Santa Ana queda a unos 55 kilómetros de nuestra comunidad, más o menos a una hora, considerando el estado de las carreteras de esta region. Al llegar a Santa Ana, nos recibió un ambiente muy agradable, lleno de calidez y hospitalidad. La última vez que visitamos este hermoso pueblo fue en el año 2019 y fue hermoso volver y ver sus calles, sus plazas, su imponente iglesia y sus canchas en excelente estado, bien cuidados por su gente y la municipalidad. Fuimos específicamente a Santa Ana porque nos invitaron a una actividad cultural en la que la comunidad celebraría el cumpleaños número 91 de uno de sus cultores.

Así que nos sumergimos en la música, la danza, la artesanía local y descubrimos la riqueza de la cultura de la región. Tuvimos la oportunidad de probar el delicioso café que cultivan y cosechan sus propios habitantes. Fue un verdadero regalo para nuestros sentidos y una experiencia enriquecedora. Vimos a grandes cultores, una de ellas la señora Olga Carvajal, una compositora y cantante de música andina del estado Tachira, quien a sus 95 años se presento en la actividad y canto una de sus canciones.

Uno de los momentos más especiales de nuestro paseo fue conocer al señor Eusebio, quien a sus 91 años sigue trabajando en la fabricación de trompos de madera con un torno que él mismo construyó. Su pasión y dedicación por su oficio nos dejaron sin palabras y nos recordaron la importancia de mantener vivas las tradiciones. Los trompos son unos de los juguetes tradicionales más importantes de Venezuela, tener frente a nosotras a uno de los exponentes más importantes de su fabricación fue todo un honor.

Después de tantas emociones, decidimos reponer fuerzas en un pequeño quiosco local donde disfrutamos de una merienda deliciosa y económica. Por tan solo 2.50 $ compramos 3 pasteles, un paquete de tostones, dos café grandes y una malta sin alcohol. La sencillez y sabrosura de la comida nos recordó la belleza de los placeres simples de la vida y nos hizo apreciar aún más cada momento de nuestro viaje.

Aunque Santa Ana del Táchira está a solo una hora de donde vivimos, el viaje nos transportó a un mundo diferente, lleno de paisajes hermosos y calles llenas de historia. La carretera rodeada de montañas nos regaló vistas espectaculares y una sensación de libertad y aventura que nos hizo apreciar aún más nuestra hermosa tierra. Nos encantó ver el Río Quinimarí rodeando la carretera de manera imponente.

Definitivamente nuestro paseo al municipio Córdoba y al pueblo de Santa Ana del Táchira fue una experiencia inolvidable que nos recordó la belleza y la diversidad de nuestro país. Con cada paso que dimos y cada persona que conocimos, descubrimos una nueva razón para amar Venezuela y todos los tesoros que guarda en su interior. Pronto volveremos, ya que queremos hacerle una entrevista al señor Eusebio y muchos otros cultores que conocimos en este hermoso día.
