#Wednesday Walk - An Early Morning Walk and a Late Afternoon Walk in Ballito.

in Wednesday Walklast month

This post is for the #wednesdaywalk challenge and the #makemesmile challenge collaboration. This collaboration initially took place once a month, but due to its popularity, @tattoodjay (of the #wednesdaywalk) and @elizacheng (of #makemesmile) decided to make it a weekly thing.

If you want to know more about the rules, visit this week's post by @tattoodjay where you will find all the rules at the bottom of his post after you've enjoyed his beautiful photos from his walk.

Last week we had to undertake an unexpected (600 KM) trip to Johannesburg for a family emergency. We only returned over the weekend. That means that we didn't go out on any walks of any kind.

For today, I decided to share some photos I took during walks we had in Ballito. I have many photos from our walks in Ballito so I thought it well to share some more of those today.

Ballito is a coastal town about 40 KM north of Durban on the East Coast of South Africa. Dolphins and Whales are often spotted in this area, so it has the nickname of the Dolphin Coast.

Early Morning Walk.

Let's start with some early morning photos.

The first photo was taken just after sunrise on an early morning walk.

A boat cruising by just behind the surf, heading in the direction of the sunrise.

It was a beautiful, clear morning. So, looking away from the sun, I was able to get some nice, clear shots.

Everything looked calm and peaceful at the tidal pool.

Some beautiful pools formed on the beach between the rocks. I loved the reflection on the water in the early morning sunlight.

Late Afternoon Walk.

We went for another walk late that afternoon, just before sunset.

The next photo shows the walkway we used to walk along the beach.

Along the walkway, there is a lot of greenery including some beautiful, colorful flowers to make the walk even more interesting and pleasant. Such as this bright red that you simply cannot miss...

...and this more subtle orange...

...and then of course there was this prominent white.

By the time we reached the tidal pool just before sunset, it was high-tide and at times the pool was hardly visible.

As it was getting dark, some beautiful waves came rolling in toward the tidal pool.

In the last photo for today, you can see how only the one side wall of the pool was barely visible. When those waves came crushing over it, the whole pool disappeared under the water.

And that's all for today, folks.

Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!

Now that was a truly beautiful and refreshing walk!

Thanks so much for taking me there because not only do I LOVE flowers, but I also LOVE a good Rock Pool too, just not when the waves are so big crashing in it!

Also prefer sunsets, than sunrises, but happy to get up early to see such spectacular ones on the odd occasion too, so thanks so much for taking me there too! 😃

I'm glad you enjoyed the walk with us, @chocolatescorpi

Yes, during the morning walk, we saw several people enjoying the calm water in the pool. But in the afternoon, during high tide, nobody was seen entering the pool...LOL!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!!

Yeah noooo the only reason you would catch me at the pool with the waves crashing in would be doing exactly what you were doing there- capturing great shots! 🤣

Absolutely!!

Wow the view is so lovely at any time of day. The tidal pool is so interesting.. looks so calm in the early morning and so turbulent in the late of day. LOL! Nature is so fascinating. Thank you for sharing beautiful experiences. An advance happy weekend to you and family.

Hi, @iamraincrystal! It is a beautiful area indeed! And yes, nature is fascinating. Especially the ocean, it's always changing. People who became experts on the ocean can read the signs and know what to look out for, but it is not a force to be played with.

I'm glad you enjoyed my post! An advance happy weekend to you too!
