This post is for the #wednesdaywalk challenge and the #makemesmile challenge collaboration. This collaboration initially took place once a month, but due to its popularity, @tattoodjay (of the #wednesdaywalk) and @elizacheng (of #makemesmile) decided to make it a weekly thing.
If you want to know more about the rules, visit the Wednesday Walk Community, created by @tattoodjay where you will find all the info you need to take part in the awesome project.
Slowly but surely, things are returning to normal...yes, life goes on irrespective of what happens in our lives.
Last weekend was a busy weekend, but we had time for two short walks.
Our first walk was on Saturday morning in Umhlanga. We went down to a smaller beach, Durban View, which is known more as a fishing spot.
As last weekend was a long weekend here in South Africa, we thought it would be quieter down there.
It was relatively busy, but not too bad.
This was the view of the beach from the O'Connor Promenade on which we walked.
As I have mentioned many times before, the ocean is never the same two days in a row. This time was no different. It was a warm, sunny day, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed. Even the sea was calm with only small little waves rolling onto the beach. The water was blue while creating the most beautiful colors where the waves were breaking and pulling back again
And always you will find some debris somewhere that has been washed ashore. But I think that even the debris can make for a nice photo.
We walked up along the O'Connor Promenade in the direction of the main beach.
In the next photo, you can see the Umhlanga Lighthouse as we started approaching it. From this side, the lighthouse is just before you reach the main beach.
Holiday accommodation can be found all along the promenade. I found a nice little walkway, leading to a pedestrian gate from where you can gain access to one of these places. It was very neat and I found it beautiful and inviting with nice greenery on both sides.
I walked up towards the gate and took a few shots from about halfway up the the gate on this little foot path. I took the shots , looking toward the ocean.
Walking back to the promenade, I took the next shot just before the foot path joined up with the promenade.
In my last photo for today, you can see a typical scene on te O'Conner Promenade just before you reach the main beach in Umhlanga.
And that all for today, folks.
Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!
