Downtown and Lavalle Square.
Hi everyone!
Today I want to share with you some shots from my last walk in the downtown area of Buenos Aires and Lavalle Square, This is in the San Nicolás neighborhood and is a very popular area. Every once in a while I walk there for many reasons but it's almost never especially to take photos, I'm always running errands, I visit camera stores for some extra accessories or I'm just passing through.
Since it's a very attractive area, it's impossible not to take some street shots since I usually carry my camera with me.
This was on Corrientes Ave, Saturday and enabled as a pedestrian street. There were a lot of people there at the time, I'm sure some were tourists.
The urban landscape in the background is interesting, a combination of different styles of architecture in buildings from different periods.
Here you cannot miss even a shot of the obelisk, it was standing on Talcahuano Street. It was just after noon so the place wasn't that busy.
A little closer and upward you can see this building in the background. In photographic terms I love these types of shots because that building is well lit while everything closer is in shadows.
Below, some people walk in front of me, they pass by the Carrefour supermarket. We can see some expressions on their faces.
On the other side of the avenue I show you other buildings in the area and the famous sign for the Güerrín pizzeria. I don't know exactly what's attractive about it, it must be the design and the tones, the aesthetics of the place but it's always attractive to take photos there, even if it's just of this sign.
On this occasion I have decided to add two photos that could be considered architectural photography.
On the left side we have a modern building in color and on the right side an older one but in black and white.
Now we go to Plaza Lavalle, which is a few blocks from Corrientes Avenue and has many iconic buildings to admire. An example of this is the Massué viewpoint, a hybrid building, composed of a unique style in the area. This is glazed on the back but its front façade has an art nouveau style. I have never decided to visit the interior, I should do it someday.
And one of the corners of the majestic court building, This one covers an entire block and has too many details to appreciate. You might consider photographing the entire external building to dedicate a post to it in more detail.
Well, I couldn't pass up taking some photos of this little feathered bird that was having fun in this area of the square 😄 It was the best I could capture taking into account that he moved too much, but I still liked these shots :)
A detailed photo of a simple chair from some pizzeria rest on Corrientes Avenue.
And a delivery man passing in front of the Presidente Roca school, you can see a little more of the columns of this building. In front of Lavalle square.
Finally, and before leaving the place, I took some more photos of this sign. The decoration of one of the restaurants caught my attention. There was an open area and they had lights so I took some photos of this.
I hope this little walk has been as enjoyable to you as it was to me. I also hope you enjoyed the photos. A hug and have a great Wednesday :)
That's all folks! Thanks for stopping by and appreciating.
