Hello, my readers, and happy Friday. I took a day off today to be able to rest up and enjoy a three-day weekend.
Thursday after work I drove to Erie, PA forty-five miles to attend the Handmaid's meeting at my pastor and his wife's home. There was a nice turnout of ladies. We brought camp chairs to sit outside in the backyard and partook off a tasty submarine sandwich and a variety of delectable desserts. I took a brownie and a miniature s'mores dessert.
We are working our way through a lady's study book and Thursday's message focused on "The Foolish Heart." A heart void of God's wisdom is taught throughout scripture to be a foolish heart.
I captured this gorgeous sunset as I was preparing to leave the Bible study.
Today I slept in and I've struggled all day to stay awake. I am still dealing with gastrointestinal problems as I wait for a HIDA scan to be performed. After reading my Bible and studying the chapter assignment for Handmaid's, I took a walk. I intended to walk to the lake again this morning and left the house struggling for energy hoping the walk would boot my levels. I made it past the corner where Dollar General sits and kept walking a short distance until I felt raindrops on my skin.
I turned back towards home and popped in at Dollar General. I left with a dollar bag of Werther's soft caramel candies. The sprinkling stopped while I was in the store.
FedEx dropped off my Pampered Chef order. I am pleasantly surprised by the size of the leak-proof glass containers.
I returned home and before long Jeff returned to drive me to the laboratory to get a blood test in preparation for a Prolia for osteoporosis injection.
Dinner was tasty chicken and biscuits prepared in the Instapot by Jeff.
Tonight we are watching the past three of "Atlas Shrugged" based on Anne Rand's prophetic novel. "Who is John Galt?"
Just like that, Friday is almost over. It's 9:21 pm on a cool Summer evening in Pennsylvania.
I'm alive and thriving this evening. How was your Friday?
