The ridge pole, usually made of locally harvested trees or bamboo, is the central beam that holds up the tarp roofs that we use on most of our structures. I agree, it is important that it would be possible to quickly repair equipment in case of failure, batteries have an expiration date, and solar cells can gradually fail, how do you solve such problems, or have you not encountered them yet?

Yes, indeed. Our nearest town is about 30 minutes away by vehicle, so not far. Pāhoa is the closest, then Kea'au, and Hilo is just a bit beyond that. We used to have mail delivery out here, but no longer. Now we have to go into Pāhoa to get our mail. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
