I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 5 years now. The questions of what makes a Hive layer-2 token valuable, and how to add value to those tokens that we do choose to create, have been buzzing around in my mind the past few days. Yes, tipping tokens are great, and they can be quite fun, but if that is a token's only use, can it be said to have any value beyond that one use case?
From my perspective, the more uses a token has, the better, however, even if a token has numerous uses, if the services that it provides are of shaky and inconsistent dependability and reliability, I'd say that it's overall value would be lower. That part of the value equation, the consistency, dependability, and reliability of a token's stated uses and services, is just as important as the particular uses themselves.
That consistency, dependability, and reliability of a token's uses and services are what creates trust in the Hive community around it and its value. When project leaders falter and are inconsistent, the value of their tokens tends to drop, which makes sense, of course.
Another way to create value for a token, though this is still based on trust, is to back it by another asset, either off-chain assets like SWAP.BTC, or always-useful on-chain assets like BEE tokens, the base Hive-Engine token that is required for all sorts of things, like creating and upgrading any layer-2 token, and creating communities and diesel/liquidity pools. BEE is arguably the most valuable token on Hive Engine, with the possible exception of WORKERBEE, which produces BEE tokens, and also allows voting for Hive-Engine witness nodes.
As @borniet and I consider how we can best add value to the tokens that we've created so far, generating more diverse uses for them, and backing them by both on-chain and off-chain assets, seems like the way to go. We know that MMB will be both pegged to, and back by, BTC (as SWAP.BTC), but what about our other tokens (IDD, HOP, WRD, STR, and BRN)? The best option presently, again from my perspective, is to back them by BEE tokens. To do that, we have to determine how much BEE each of these assorted tokens is worth. When @borniet has more available time (he's very often super busy with his home and work life), I'll discuss these ideas with him, along with various other important issues on our plate, so that we are able to give solid value and uses to our tokens, and to build even stronger trust in the Hive community.
Yesterday, Monday, I left the Flow House, once I had finished up my Hive tasks, around 1:30PM. I headed to the Landing first, to strain and blend kefir (kefir-honey-cinnamon-cacao), which went quite quickly. I had intended to take more photos for these posts, but the cloudy, overcast weather did not cooperate in that regard. As such I skipped it, and I went to unload the Sunday-market stuff from Ano's truck, and then I helped him load it with trash cans for a dump run. It's still astounding how much trash that this community generates. With that done, I went with Ano to his nursery, so that he could show me some paid work during the week that I could do. Since I haven't given sessions in a while again, I'm basically out of money, so nursery work is a necessity at the moment. After that I made my way back to the other side of the property, to the Landing, to make myself some eggs (eggs, sea salt, onions, tomatoes, and cheese), and to collect my leftover superfood fire coffee from the fridge, make my way back to the Flow House, to do my October-HPUD powerup, and then write and publish my October HPUD - Hive Power Up Day - 42.9 HIVE Powered Up Today! post, before finally getting into my usual evening Hive tasks, and catching up on my notifications. I got everything done on Hive by around 9:30PM, and after some token management, and scanning my X feed for a while, I went to bed around 12AM. I woke up about 7:15AM, having thankfully slept well, doing a round of token management, beginning on this post, and then getting out of bed to go make my superfood fire coffee. I had to milk the cow this morning, with Lizzie's assistance, and while there was a bit of chaos in the morning around it, it went smoothly. As soon as I was done with milking, I headed back to the Flow House to write this post. It's now just before 12:45PM, so an excellent time to end this post, so that I can get to my few important Hive tasks, before leaving the Flow House later in the afternoon, first to take more photos for these posts, and then community/land work. 2024 Life Goals
1.) Heal my broken heart, reignite my heart sun, and embody a solid, healthy masculine, allowing my electric fire to shine bright, no matter what others, especially women, say or do.
2.) Bring myself and my life back into balance, integration, and wholeness.
3.) Do regular (naked) integral practices again, alone or with others.
4.) Dance regularly again.
5.) Work with natural entheogens (mushrooms, ganja, ayahuasca), with punctuated regularity, as a part of my healing process again.
6.) Get, and keep, regular deep, integral energy-body-tantric work healing sessions for women flowing again.
7.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.
8.) Make my plant nursery beautiful again.
9.) Live as an integral part of a juicy heart-resonant soul tribe community, with deep, coherent mutual and shared passion, purpose, mission, love, warmth, care, sweetness, reverence, respect, aliveness, admiration, excitement, enjoyment, playfulness, work, fun, laughter, attraction, and all-level connections and relationships.
10.) Make love with the woman, or the women, that I love, every day, as a sacred devotional practice.
11.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.
