I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 5 years now. Although there are many challenges, I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙
Warm greetings all! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
I can't believe that I didn't realize it until later, but yesterday, Wednesday, March 20th, was Hive's four-year anniversary! Happy Birthday, Hive! Of those four years, I've been here on the Blockchain for almost 2.5 years now. It's crazy and wild that I've been here that long already, and that I'm as all in as I've ever been! Today, four years and one day after Hive was born from the hostile takeover of the STEEM blockchain, I'll be crossing the 6,500 HP milestone, which is a nice way to celebrate this significant occasion!
As we are all well aware, Hive is not static, but is rather always changing and evolving, and my goodness have there been a lot of shifts since I first arrived here on September 23, 2021! I just keep adapting, adjusting, tweaking, and refining what I do here on Hive, as things to which I'd grown accustomed, or even things on which I'd come to depend or rely, change. Sometimes the changes are beneficial, good changes. Other times, however, the changes made throw a major wrench in my flow, which is sadly something I've been experiencing lately, more than a few times.
Ecency removing the post-boosting feature was one of those not-so-good changes for me. I don't like it, but I adapt the best I can. It annoys me when features that I had found very useful are changed in a manner that they then become less useful to me. There were also a string of unpleasant token changes this week which delt some notable blows to my Hive Multi-Stream Passive-Income Machine.
The first of those unwanted changes is that the SPS rewards, that were claimed on Splinterland.com, ended for the SWAP.HIVE:VOUCHER diesel/liquidity pool. While it isn't a huge loss, it definitely slows down my SPS growth, and it also means that I now have token assets, VOUCHER, that no longer have a use. I'll look into other liquidity pools, to see if there is another that might provide useful benefits.
The second very unfortunate token change is that the LOLZ team announced that they would be suspending farming for several different tokens, IMPORTANT UPDATE: LOLZ Defi Suspending Farming For Several Tokens - BEATCZ, BRK, DUNK, HH, PEPE, and PHOTO. That change hits pretty hard, as I delegate good amounts of all of those tokens to their respective curation accounts. Now I'm left with a bunch of tokens that are less useful to me. Some I can reallocate, but others, like DUNK, where it seems the project is dead, I may just have to try to sell, which is sad. I haven't undelegated yet, though I will likely start doing that today at some point. Sigh.
Those changes, along with all of the various persistent broken or semi-broken aspects of Hive's framework, are leaving me feeling a bit discouraged. Hive is truly incredible, I love and believe in it deeply, and I very much am in for the long haul, but yeah, it's a bit of a rough experience lately. Perhaps it's like a marriage, where there are times that are joyful, fulfilling, and meaningful, as well as times that are difficult, painful, and draining. When we love someone or something, we don't give up. At least I don't.
I left the Flow House yesterday, Wednesday, a little before 1PM, after publishing the last iteration of this post, and finishing up a few important Hive tasks. I focused on taking photos for this post, and straining out kefir for my kefir-honey-cinnamon-cacao blend, first, which thankfully I was able to get done fairly quickly. At 2PM I met up with Neva on the Peanut Lawn again, for our second round of naked energy, movement, and yogic practices. While it started sunny and warm, part way through our practice clouds moved in again and it stated to rain. Since we were moving our bodies, we were pretty warm, so initially the rain felt wonderfully refreshing, invigorating, and enlivening, so we continued for several moves more. Soon, however, the intensity of the rain increased, so we decided to end our practice a little short. Even though we weren't able to go for as long as last time, it was still super fun and engaging for both of us, and it felt amazing. We plan to meet up for another round of naked integral practices on Saturday.
After my practice with Neva, I shared some wonderful food with Sara that she had made and offered me, then I made some of my spicy seasoned popcorn, which I shared with Sara, Bryan, and whoever else wanted it in the Landing (I left the bowl on the counter, and it was mostly empty by evening). After nibbling on popcorn, I grabbed a quart of my kefir blend, and a jar of water, from the Landing fridge, then I headed back up to the Flow House, to dive into my evening round of Hive tasks, and catching up on notifications, which I was thankfully able to complete around 10:30PM. After some token management, and checking in on my X feed, I went to bed around 12AM. As has been the case for weeks now, while I seem to have slept reasonably well, I woke up feeling g like I needed more sleep, again. I started on a round of token management around 7:30AM, then I began writing this post.
It's now close to 9AM, so an excellent time to end this post, so that I can get a few important Hive tasks done, go make my superfood fire coffee, help milk Daisy the cow, and then prepare for my session with Sara at 1PM. Busy day indeed. I deeply appreciate you all so very much! Until tomorrow! Forward, onward, and upward, joyfully together!
