Goodness me, and with children too, what a scrape!

Here we have breakdown packages that include rescuing your car and taking it to wherever you wish including your home or a garage of your choice, together with whatever it takes to get you to your intended destination. This can be a courtesy car, overnight hotel accommodation or travelling in the breakdown truck. I always have this relay package and it is surprisingly inexpensive (unless you are a frequent user and fail to get your car properly maintained and repaired).

On the other hand, being so contingency prepared, I would have missed the opportunity to travel on a double-decker train (I love those continental trains)!

There was a heartwarming story on national radio about a woman with a young child strapped in the back seat who broke down in the fast lane of a motorway. Terrifying! The driver of an articulated lorry spotted her and pulled in behind her to shield her from oncoming traffic and stayed with her until the rescue services arrived. So lovely to hear these stories of care for each other.

Glad you all arrived home safely and without further mishap!

I remember those good services in the UK. They don't have such available here unfortunately otherwise I would buy it.

I also have a breakdown package but the service was really bad so I needed to act on my own and will try and claim the costs back.

The technical rescue guys were really awesome, we would have been really stuck without them. !CTP

Of course! Glad you all got home safely!
