Chocolate Covered Cashew Day + Día de los Anacardos cubierto de Chocolate [Eng+Spa]

We are to ends on Sunday and a new work week will begin in hours. There are few things to tell about my #life offline. Perhaps the only new thing is that my brother and I have physical discomfort in our joints or back. I guess it has to do with the rainy weather these days, plus the fact that the calendar doesn't pass for free in these bodies.

Apart from that detail, everything else is fine. I want to focus today's post more on a #Food Ephemeris issue, although I don't have all the data on #History that I would like to have, I found it interesting and chose it for the post. Today is 'Chocolate Covered Cashew Day'.

In some localities, this dried #fruit is not known by the name cashew, which is a product of the Anacardium occidentale tree. But there are no problems if we give a list of names by which this nut is also known: Cashew, merey, Indian nut, anacardos or cajú.

I guess now you can better identify what we're talking about. Well, it is a plant native to southern America, in the territory of what is currently Brazil. There is evidence of its consumption since prehistoric times by human populations, so it is not surprising that, with the arrival of European explorers and colonizers to America, during the 15th and 16th centuries, this dried fruit became known and taken to other latitudes.

The western cashew tree has a reputation for being quite resistant to change, and I read that it can grow in other latitudes without being very demanding in terms of its climate and soil conditions. That is why it is not surprising that its cultivation spread. In addition, the supply of nuts is something useful for long trips. Let's add to that #cashews have the characteristic of presenting high values of quality nutrients, and we will then have a winning recipe for a nut of interest.

At some point, a confectioner came up with the brilliant idea of combining this dried fruit, already toasted, with a #chocolate coating. Cocoa, which gives rise to #chocolate, is a plant product that is also of American origin, but in this case, it is initially known for its use in Mesoamerica. The Europeans acquired it and took it with them. Centuries later, recipes emerged to combine cocoa with milk and spices, thus beginning a new era in the preparation of this product.

In my case, I have never eaten this recipe, but it is very simple to prepare, just have cashews, already ready for consumption, and apply a layer of chocolate coating (you can use milk chocolate to melt and submerge the cashews). Just like that, two delicious and nutritious products are combined to create a snack that I think will be delicious.

After all, everything is better with a little chocolate (fume smile). Well, that would be it for today's record. I say goodbye, wishing you that you are well and that we can read again another time.

I have always been a big fan of cashew nuts. I super enjoy eating it because it tastes good and it is healthy. And now, for the chocolate mix-up, that would be very nice to try out. Heheh

I like cashews too, and the recipe in this post is very simple, so at some point I'll give it a try and we'll try them at home :)
