Blonde Brownies Day + Día de los Brownies Rubios [Eng+Spa]

We are on the 23rd of the month, this January has been progressing at a good pace. It's Monday, so it's the start of the work week. In my case, I spent it at home, with a slight fever and most of the time in bed, but at this time of night I feel better, and I decided to write the log of the day.

I'm a little short on time, so I'm not going to dwell on my calm daily #life, but instead I'll comment on the anniversary of the day in #History. I chose a #food theme, as it has been my favorite theme for some time now. Today we celebrate a #dessert, which I admit I had no idea existed, and seems to be very popular in North American countries. It's 'Blonde Brownies Day'.

Estamos en el día 23 del mes, este enero ha ido avanzando a un buen ritmo. Es lunes, así que se trata del inicio de la semana laboral. En mi caso, me la pasé en casa, con algo de fiebre y la mayor parte del tiempo en cama, pero ya a estas horas de la noche estoy mejor y me decidí a escribir el registro del día.

Estoy un poco corto de tiempo, así que no voy a redundar sobre mi calmada #vida diaria, sino que pasaré a comentar sobre la efeméride del día en la #Historia. Elegí un tema de #comida, tal como viene siendo mi tema favorito desde hace ya un tiempo. El día de hoy se celebra un #postre, que admito que yo no tenía idea de que existía, y parece que goza de buena popularidad en países norteamericanos. Es el ‘Día de los Brownies Rubios’.

Well, it's like those moments in old-school journalist movies that I liked to watch, when they yelled something like 'Stop the machines! We have new Front Page Headlines!’. It happens that when I think about #Brownies, the image of a chocolate #Cake, with a crunchy crust and creamy center, comes to mind. But, #Rubios, or Blonde Brownies, are a preparation that certainly shares some resemblance with their dark cousins, but does not have chocolate, in fact, in its flavor a strong vanilla flavor is pursued in contrast to the chocolate.

I found out today about its existence, and its recipe does not seem complicated, in fact, apart from the detail that it does not contain chocolate, the other changes may not be so notable. Such as adding one more egg, using light brown sugar, and adding Cornstarch to the preparation. Although it may be that the recipes I got were very simple, and I was not able to notice major differences, apart from the color and vanilla flavor.

Bien, es como esos momentos de películas de periodistas de vieja escuela que me gustaba ver, cuando gritaban algo como ‘¡Detengan las máquinas! ¡Tenemos nuevos Titulares de Primera Plana!’. Sucede que cuando pienso en #Brownies viene a mi mente la imagen de un postre de chocolate, oscuro, de costra crujiente y de centro cremoso. Pero, los #Rubios, o Brownies Rubios, son una preparación que comparte ciertamente algo de parecido con sus primos oscuros, pero no tiene chocolate, de hecho, en su sabor se persigue un fuerte sabor a vainilla en luchar del chocolate.

Me enteré hoy de su existencia, y su receta no parece complicada, de hecho, fuera del detalle de que no lleva chocolate, puede que los otros cambios no sean tan notables. Tales como agregar un huevo más, usar azúcar morena clara, y agregar a la preparación Maicena. Aunque puede ser que las recetas que me conseguí fueran muy simples y yo no fuera capaz entonces de notar mayores diferencias, además del color y sabor a vainilla.

I guess it's one of those kinds of things that doesn't taste good in person until you make it and eat it at home. Maybe I'll decide to prepare one of these to see how it turns out.

The recipe I saw seems to indicate that the origin of this dessert is the United States, and it does not seem to be very old, but I may be out of dates due to my lack of historical sources of sufficient depth.

Generally, I like to research history things very well, but this time I hit a wall. I don't know if it's because my head can't get out of the fever, or if there really was little useful material on the websites that were within my reach. So I'll leave it this way for today. I say goodbye now, wishing you that you are well and that we can read again another time.

Supongo que es una de esas clases de cosas que no se sabe bien en persona, hasta que uno lo prepara y lo come en casa. Quizás me decida a preparar uno de estos para ver que tal queda.

La receta que vi parece que indica que el origen de este postre es Estados Unidos, y no parece que sea muy antiguo, pero puede que yo esté fuera de fechas por mi carencia de fuentes históricas de suficiente profundidad.

Generalmente, me gusta investigar muy bien las cosas de historia, pero en esta oportunidad choqué con un muro. No sé si es porque mi cabeza no termina de salir del malestar de fiebre, o es que de verdad había poco material útil en las webs que estaban a mi alcance. Así que mejor lo dejaré de esta manera por hoy. Ya me despido, deseándote que tú estés bien y que nos podamos leer de nuevo en otra oportunidad.
