We have had some heavy snow in the last days and temperatures have dropped to -10 in the night which has been pretty cold compared to the mild winter we have had so far.
With that in mind, we decided to head to the nearby mountains with some slopes for sledging.
The sun was out and we had some great weather which made it even more enjoyable. It was busy but not too busy at the time we decided to go and we found some space to sledge in ease.
The sky was lovely and clear and you can barely see the day-moon visible in the sky. I do love to catch the moon on a lovely sunny day.
It was around -5 when we left, but during the afternoon it dropped to -1 with the sun shining and melting the snow. However, with the fresh snow, the conditions were absolutely perfect for sledging. I thought we might not get a chance to do any sledging this year, so I was glad that we took advantage today.
It was some great father-son time and we went down a few times together, but it goes very fast with me on there, so I had to break quite abit.
As we headed back to the car, the carpark was pretty full and it was starting to get busier as more people arrived for the afternoon. In this area is a hotel and restaurant, but also there is a hut where you can buy some hot coffee and grilled sausages if you didn't bring anything yourself.
Once back home, I found some Jaffa cakes left for me, which is the perfect accompanyment to a cup of hot chocolate.
Thanks for reading.
