This is a quick run-through of what we're growing in the garden this year. My (very pregnant baby any-day-now) wife has been spending an hour or so every evening planting and maintaining the garden, while I have weeded some most days and the children are diligent to water it!
We already have some green tomatoes on the vine!
The eggplant is flowering.
Lots of small apples on the tree, let's hope we can keep them.
The sweet potatoes are vining out. We are planning on cutting these back to encourage larger tubers. The leaves are edible! Delicious sauteed in butter.

Giant sunflowers are reaching for the sky.
Sadly, we lost our entire cherry crop this year to some sort of fungus.
Even though the bushes are small, we are getting some blueberries!
This is our first year planting wheat, it's pretty thin. We suspect that the birds ate a lot of the seeds.
Our comfrey plant is coming back strong, even after cutting it down in May.
The herb garden is growing! Basil, parsley, cilantro, thyme.
Lots of carrots coming up, we'll have to thin these out.
We harvested a few peas and got a small hand-full of peas.
Gardens always look best early on. Give it a few months and we'll see how well it holds up. We're hoping for a good harvest in late August and September.
