Today, on the other side of the Memorial, seven days after the Passover, our family observes the seventh day of Unleavened. It's a Holy day, a day of rest and the last day we eat unleavened bread.
It's memorializing when the sons of Israel crossed the Red Sea to escape the Egyptian army.
Doubting Thomas
It's also a day of doubt and belief.
Disbelief, because everything looks hopeless, doomed, very bad, no good, we're done-for, this is the end for us. This is probably how Thomas felt, after learning of His Master's demise, and outlandish claims that He was seen.
Now Judah Thomas, one of the twelve called Didymus, was not with them when Yeshua came. The other disciples said to him “We have seen the Master!”
Ha! Seen the Master! The one who was killed? Who we thought was King of Israel? The deliverer? Our Salvation? Pft. I have to see to believe.
But he said to them “Unless I see the stamp of the nails in His hands and thrust my finger into the stamp of the nails and thrust my hand into the wound on His side made by the spear, I shall by no means believe.”
Even after Israel witnessed all the plagues in Egypt, the death of the first-born, the miracles and darkness... I'm sure there were some at the edge of the sea having some serious doubts.
Judah Thomas also witnessed miracles, healing, the deaf hearing, the blind seeing, the lame walking. Then at the Messiah's demise, darkness, earthquakes and tombs opening up... perhaps even reports of dead saints walking around Jerusalem?
How could Thomas doubt? Easy. It's easy to doubt.
The Eighth Day
Today is the eighth day from the passover, the 22nd day of the month. This was the day that Judah's doubts were put to rest.
After eight days [from the Passover], His disciples were again within and Judah Thomas was with them. The doors, having been locked, Yeshua came and stood in the midst and said “Shalom Aleichem!”
This is the SEA PARTING moment, when Moses said:
“Fear not, stand still and see the Salvation of the LORD, which He will show you today!” Exodus 14:13
Well here He is! The Salvation (Yeshua) of the LORD! Standing right here, shown to us... today!
Thereafter He said to Thomas “Bring your finger here and see My hands and bring your hand and thrust it into My side and do not be unbelieving, but believe.” And he answered and said to Him, “My Master and my God!”
As the sons of Israel began walking on dry ground, they begin to realize... they are SAVED! The situation has changed. The reports are true, both about Moses and the Prophet like unto Moses. This is all REAL!
And the people feared the LORD and believed in the LORD and in His servant Moshe. Exodus 14:31
Likewise we must believe in the LORD and in His servant! We must be no longer unbelieving, but believing. But we don't see Yeshua standing before us, we don't see all the miracles, the ocean splitting in two for our salvation. But we don't have to see, we have to BELIEVE!
Now Yeshua said to Thomas “Seeing that you have seen Me, you have believed. Happy are those who do not see Me and believe.”
We Must Not Doubt, But Believe
We are happy this EIGHTH DAY that even though we do not see Yeshua right now, we know and believe that He is our Salvation, even if we have our backs to the wall, we are happy because we BELIEVE!
And like the sons if Israel who were about to be massacred by the army, with the sea in front of them, mountains on either side and an army of chariots behind them - they also should be HAPPY because they trust in the Most High God.
Who believes our report and to whom is the arm of the LORD is revealed?
We must not be like doubting Thomas, but believe the report, that the ARM OF THE LORD is revealed to us. He is coming, He will be revealed, He will take his rightful throne and rule the nations in righteousness.
and the government shall be upon His shoulder.
AMEN.

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin
We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.
No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13
Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny
Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.
Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books. I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.
