        This Arabic calendar, also known as the Hijri calendar, is counted from the year 622 AD when the last and final Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) migrated from the city of Makka to the city of Madina. However, it didn't start during the lifetime of the prophet. It was introduced during the caliph of Umar (RA).
