A week into the new year -- amazing, isn't it? It's another Chooseday so I hope you remembered to choose happy today and every day. π
The year has just started so I thought it best to start the first Chooseday with money talk. Yup, it's that topic not so many folks want to talk about. I think it's important to include that in our daily, weekly, monthly, etc. goals. These days inflation is so bad that money almost has no value. Everything's so expensive, so I'm happy to be staying home most of the time.
Lo and behold, today I got to this page on my journal. I'm truly pleased with my freebie journal from Mercury Drug that I make it a point to claim annually from my rewards point. It's great to pause and analyze my money mindset, a great help as I begin another year of budgeting. Last year was not too easy for me, as I was adjusting to not having my daughter around. I may have overdone some purchases, so this year, I'm planning some cutbacks. Plus with my goal of overcoming my mobility challenge, I should be able to do some of my own purchases. I am well aware of the four categories mentioned in the journal: needs, wants, culture, and unexpected. One constant goal I've always had is not just to always afford the needs but also the unexpected. I'm thankful for this mini lesson today. πππ‘
Prompt A Day : Quote

I truly enjoy these January quotes as it keeps reminding me to start fresh. π I am, however, on a path to continue on what I've started. I must admit though that the new year is always fresh to start plans esp. budgetary plans. It's best to reflect on the follies of the previous year, learn the lesson, and paint a better picture for the current year. "Begin with the end in mind." I remember this from Stephen Covey. Knowing the end result that I desire truly helps remind me why I do what I do. It also helps me focus amidst distractions all around.
Roast beef salad. Last weekend I tried this take out from Subway. It's pretty good. It's my first time to try it and I liked it. I also ordered roast chicken salad. For the year, I'd like to eat healthy more. I'm totally serious about my road to wellness.
Today, we finished work later than usual again, but thankfully earlier than yesterday. I'm glad I enjoyed my after work nap. Two work days done, four days to go, π€£ Yes, I'm counting down to the weekend again. π

Another day is coming to an end. Time to clear the mind and seek some zen. Have a fantastic week y'all! Nighty night from Manila. Ta-tah! π
