Luckily, I'm ALIVE! This one literally means ALIVE because the fire came again. It was right in front of my house, about four or five houses to be exact, and I'll be the next one. The first thing to do was to announce to the others that my shop was closed. I made an Instagram story as an announcement. This fire happened yesterday. The photo below was taken from my Instagram story. I don't have time to record it just for documentation 😑.
After that, I made a strategy. If the house with the orange roof tiles was on fire, then it was time to pack up. If there was already an orange water barrel in the house, then I had to go out. Before that, I became a guard to see the situation and think about what I should pack first.
I was contacted by my friend who helped put out the fire. His house is kinda far from the fire. The information is the fire had started to subside but the fire quickly grew bigger again because of the location. Yes, in a traditional market near me, so there are many flammable items.
After about 2 hours, the fire stopped growing. There were even some people on the orange roof tiles because that house had been half-burned before. As I said before, I had also packed my things. The important thing that I had to bring was my source of money, which was my PC. I had packed everything in case the fire spread to my house. Clothes? Wearing them for more than 2 days wouldn't kill me. Other things could be bought again as long as I could still work.
The fire is out around 2 hours and a half, but the problem is not over. There are sparks on the electric pole in front of the house. Luckily, the officers from the State Electricity Company have closed the circuit. What I am confused about is why they checked the electric pole after the fire engine left, the social assistance team already set up tents, and food + other aid had been placed. All aid and evacuation posts are located close to the electric pole that has not been checked. Their work is very slow... I think they were thinking people here are hallucinating because they look like they are pointing at the electric pole and not seeing anything 😑. Yeah, they are coming when the sparks are already gone. My brain is like: "Just go up there and check!"
*My phone battery was out around 9 pm. I still have two things to be my light source: the fully charged Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch.
Around 11 pm after all the government officials left, their team just started checking the electric poles before turning on the electricity. About 8 people came, 1 holding a ladder, 1 checking the electric pole, and the rest just standing there. I don't know what they were doing... There was a short circuit on the first attempt to turn on the electric circuit. It's already good on the second attempt. Luckily, there's no fire coming from that pole with that attempt. Everything is back to normal. I set up my PC again, and I do what I can do before sleep.
From the news, I did not find the source of the fire. I got information that 15 houses were burned. There have been two fires in my area in a week. What the hell happened?!
Hopefully, readers are always safe and alert to natural disasters. At least, you know what things you should save first in a situation like this. Have a nice day~
