Thankful Thursday
I am thankful for so much in my life, even though there have been and will be many more challenges in the future.
I am thankful for my wife, my 4 children, my 2 grandchildren, my dog Bella and my Bike.
Not to mention that i live in a sleepy part of the UK and despite the UK's issues it is still like winning the geo lottery i am not going to lie.
The fact that i was born and dragged up in the UK, lived on the streets and had to literally work my way from nothing while facing many personal issues i still feel privilaged.
As a youngster i was a little wild and rough, i was from a financially struggling family, made many bad choices, some on purpose 🤣 ending up on the streets of London.
But i survived a few rough years and now live in the countryside years later, doing pretty well for myself now.
I also have some crazy stories from that time in my life and learned many lessons along the way.
The wild in me is still there, i just have much better control of it now.
You can take the kid off the street but you can't take the street out of the kid.
The skills i learned on the streets have helped me in my life, i had to grow up quickly (or become a Victim) and learn to hustle (or starve).
Becoming resourceful was a must and being able to protect what little i had necessary.
You have to learn to read people as most are not friends in that situation.
But it developed a fire in me, a drive to do better no matter what i face in life.
I will never be regretful only thankful because everything that i have been through as brought me to this moment in time and i am not sad about it.
