My Firsts Lessons Learned On Hive
Soon after I got signed up by @oasiskp2 on Hive - the web3.0 social platform a couple of days ago, I was told that I need to create my first post which is My Introduction Post. I quickly do that two days ago. Soon after that I began to receive comments from different hivians welcoming me to the web3 platform.
@heyhaveyamet in the post Hey! Have Ya Met...? Introductions for Saturday May 25, 2024 spotlighted my post which then gave way to loving hivians to see my post, voted and make meaningful comments by way of advice and guidance to have a smooth hive experience. Worthy of mention here is @jamerussell, who after welcoming me, gave some useful suggestions for me to follow which are as follows:
Seven suggestions to consider:
- Guard your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
- Use your active key only for wallet transactions, Keychain, Peaklock, and Hivesigner,
- The master password and the owner key are only used to reset compromised passwords,
- DO NOT lose your password or keys; copy and store offline,
- Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written, without credit, and be sure to source all of your work, even if it is your own.
- An introduceyourself tag is used only once , and
- DO NOT OPEN any links in memos or comments that you do not know who they belong to. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, so the old saying goes. There is nothing free here.
Then @palomap3 after welcoming me to the platform also told me that:
You've come to a wonderful place where you can develop any interest you can think of. The limit is up to you!
The learning curve is steep at first, but ask any questions you have, read and observe.
@sommylove on her part wishes me a lovely welcome.
Another comment I received that surprises me is the one from @hivebuzz, letting me know that I have received a new badge for receiving 10 upvotes, and when I checked the link, I was surprised with what I saw there as seen below:

As if that was all, in my efforts to respond to some of the comments, I discovered that when I click on "post", my message refuses to submit and then I was told something about "RC" not being sufficient.
Since I do not know what it means and what to do, I quickly contact @oasiskp2 and told him my experience. He laughed and told me, 'that is part of the early lessons you need to learn.' He took time to educate me on RC issue and promised me that he will do something about it.
Suprisingly, this morning he called and informe me that he has sent me some Resources Credit. I am so happy because it gives me the opportunity to create this post, thanks to him for being a resource person.
Learning I must admit is a continual thing, I never knew I could learn all these within the space of one week. Hive is definitely a school! I look forward with open mind to learn and assimilate more in the days, weeks, months and years to come.
