Power Tripping On The Less Powerful - My Experience

in Hive Learners2 months ago

The world is made up of those with power or in power, and those with no power or connection to power. It's an unbalanced life so there's always going to be the ones who will be oppressed or abused with power by another. The prayer is that the less powerful or less privileged ones will be able to survive any form of power trips they experience.

I've witness a lot of people who abuse their power and people who are victims of those power abuses. It's not a good sight most times but for those with power, it is one of the best use of the power they have... Oppressing others or having their way easy.

I can't say I'm against people with power, I'm sure I'd love to have some power of my own too but what is not cool and can be inevitable for many is the abuse of it. Many power trippers are not even aware they power trip, it is okay and normal for them.

I saw a series where the daughter of a rich family kept firing her employees at every slight mistake, hit them whenever she feels like and even hurt them emotionally with her words but it was until someone she falls in love with points it out before she realized she has been on a power trip all that while... It's really crazy.

Power changes people but it depends on the individual that comes in contact with the power to let it change him or her for the better or for the worse. I wish everyone with power would use it for good only but that is not possible so I don't get surprised when I witness one or experience it myself.

My experience
One I remember the experience more clearly was when I still in the university and on our final project, the hardworking students including myself were busy with the practicals and trying to get approvals from our supervisors by our own efforts but some lazy ones, who knew their money could buy their way out were relaxed and waiting for the project defence day in all comfortability.

Of course, I wouldn't have any problem with that if it doesn't affect my own work or play a role in what I'll get as my result. But then, something happened that made me wish we all had the power to not be in the shoes we were. The supervisors got picky, annoying and wanting to frustrate the ones who didn't pay their way out.

It was from one problem to another, myself and a lot of others could actually feel our hard work going to waste by every submission just because we wanted to do the work ourselves and not pay the huge amount they are asking for.

Even if I were to go back to that time again, I'll do the same thing and ignore using the power of my money to get things come by easy. I still remember one of the student who paid her way out looking down on a fellow student for doing so much to get the same result she will get... It felt really annoying and frustrating but thankfully, it didn't affect our results.

We got over it and moved on, I can tell we knew better than the others who paid their way out but I was still jealous of the fact that they used that privilege.

This can be so annoying. Why would you pay your way out and come and look down on me. Those students can’t pay their way out throughout because some ways can’t be paid with money but requires hard work.

They don't seem to know that yet, until then 😅

This is related to a lady in the place I lived in. She is from a wealthy home and so have the opportunity to become the local government chairman. She always slap her workers. This I can call bad habit and wickedness.

A very bad habit I must, it's not cool in anyway no matter how big or powerful one is.

I really feel your pain
It can be so annoying in most cases
Because you'd keep on asking yourself that question that
So what's now the use of doing this project in the first play if all they wanted was money.
Such lecturers should be dealt with by all means honestly.

My thought exactly, it felt like we were just wasting our time but thankfully, we learnt from it anyways.

I'm happy you did tho
Cause some people might just give up because of things like this

That student don't know what she did to herself because life always have a way it plays back. I love to see when people put in their best to see that things are done the way it should. Some fellows are just power drunk

I love it too, especially for myself. It feels fulfilling when I do things myself and do them well.

I believe that lecturer just chose to feign ignorance to those he knew were working hard to ensure the successful completion of their project because why would he choose to just be harsh towards everyone instead of directing his anger towards those that deserved it.

He's just money blinded I guess, it's so sad.
