I guess the one major reason is - Because society thinks, if a woman is elder she would dominate household.
It's actually the same in my country Nigeria, hence why most marriages I have seen always have the man older than the woman, and it's also one of the reasons why most men subconsciously prefer younger women here in my country
I have seen the age difference of more the 10 years aalso but in 99.9 cases the Man are older the women here. Here the financial aspect also comes into picture as women empowerment is less. So men is financial leader of the house that alsalso add one more reason.
