One car per family?

Greetings!

"One car per family – is it an ideal thing?"

I smiled when I asked myself this question because it’s quite a laughable situation to imagine if such a law got passed, especially in the era we’re currently living in.

First of all, our existence on this earth has been programmed in such a way that every single action of humans has its advantages and disadvantages. So, as much as this law, if it gets enacted and practiced, could improve the environmental living conditions of humans, such as reducing carbon emissions, it’s far from being an ideal situation as far as I’m concerned. It’s more like caging the citizens and limiting their freedom, especially their freedom of movement. Having just one car in a family would surely hinder many movements.

Oh, another benefit of such a law is that it would create equality in terms of car ownership. I’m particularly referring to how the rich or wealthy acquire numerous cars. Yes, it would reduce that, and the only difference that would separate the poor, the average, the rich, and the wealthy would be the quality of the car they buy.

Aside from these, I don’t see why a "one car per family" law should be imposed. Imagine families with grown-ups, where the children should have a car and the parents can afford it. They’d have to settle for just one car. If their dad takes that car to work, the rest of the family would have to wait until he returns before they could use it—unless they resort to public transport. Also, in situations where the entire family (a large family) needs to travel a long distance with plenty of luggage that can’t fit into one car, they’d end up spending more on transport fares using public transport.

Additionally, there are scenarios where private transportation is a necessity. With just one car in a family, such movements would be greatly hindered.

This kind of restriction could also negatively impact the economy due to the low patronage of cars. Some might argue that limiting families to one car would boost car sales because every family would want to own at least one car. However, this is far from the truth. Cars will still be expensive and require a good amount of money to purchase, which would prevent some families from buying one. Rich families, on the other hand, would be restricted from purchasing more than one car, ultimately hindering the growth of the automobile business and affecting the economy.

For people like me who suffer from motion sickness on public transit, limiting families to one car would mean members of the household would have to rely on public transport more often. For individuals who experience nausea frequently, this would pose a serious health risk. They might have to pay for the entire space in a vehicle or opt for Uber, which is incredibly expensive. This restriction would ultimately reduce people's willingness or ability to travel.

You have said a lot of special and interesting things. It is a fact that if we all think something good and work hard on it, then we will definitely see things getting better. If he has a car, he should also have money to afford it so that his car does not harm other people.

Yeahhh.
Having a care is not actually a big deal, it is its maintenance and usage that matters...and these require a lot of money.

You made some very important points about this one car per family thing because I also feel that it won't work and the disadvantages seem to outweigh the advantages

Sureeee!
It's so disadvantageous.
Except maybe in a very poor country that citizens can't afford a car

👍

You have a point there especially that of threat to one's health due to limiting a car to a family which can never be convenient at all. I don't think such a thing would even be possible. Lol

It can never be possible!
Except in other planets. Lol😅
