Landing on a decision

in Hive Learners11 months ago

Greetings everyone! 🙌

One thing I've learned in my life is not to make decisions in a hurry. I take my time to ponder on my next delicate actions because my heart always suffers whenever my actions don't go well.

I remember a particular time when I hastily went and fought a guy who was spreading lies about a fellowship I was leading. Yes, I was right; I had the right to go and confront him with shouts and 'intended slaps' because I was damn angry. But when the heat cooled down, I regretted it. I could have called him to order with just a talk.

In tough situations, it takes me time to land on a decision

In the real world and over the years, I've been living on my own world. It's very hard for me to run to anyone to seek advice on how to handle a critical situation because I don't like it either. This often prolongs my decision-making process. Of course, I know that "two heads are better than one," but sometimes the other head, when given too much access, could take it for granted, especially if they know you personally.

Instead of giving anyone that access into my personal life for an easy solution or decision, I prefer to take my time, ponder on it, find a way and settles with whatsoever I come up with, with full responsibility to take the repercussion.

Last year, I gave out my faulty power bank to a phone engineer for repair, he couldn't repair it and he seized it. I got angry because he was playing me so bad with a lot of cooked-up stories. The only option left was to arrest him, at least lock him in police custody for a week. Yes, that was the only solution because I had begged and threatened him, but the guy was just adamant. This became a nagging issue to me, and I thought a lot about it because arresting him would cost me a fortune, an amount more than the cost of the power bank.
Another option popped up too which was reporting the issue to the elders (indigenes) in my church for a decision on what to do, but hey, I don't like it being the topic of discussion, and people having access to my life.

I stayed up to a week battling with thoughts on how to retrieve my power bank, and within that period of brainstorming, I had a prompt to go and meet the guy again. Guess what, I went there, and it was as if an angel spoke to him the night before that day, and I got my power bank swiftly.

I also seek advice from people, but on mere things

I'm a tech guy, especially when it comes to phones, but whenever I want to get a new one, I go about seeking advice, asking to know the lags of the latest before deciding a decision.

Before buying the phone I'm currently using in December last year, I messaged almost all my friends that I know have good knowledge of phones. Some of them gave me good ideas, suggested the latest picks on phones. I also got to know about new products that I hadn't heard about.

Although they suggested, I collated all their ideas, put them together before deciding on the one I'm currently using. This took me a lot of time because I didn't want to buy something that would backfire in a very short period. I know what it takes to buy a phone out of poor decision and suffer from two weeks of using the phone. Yeah, I've been there before; that's why I don't rush to a conclusion.

I believe in tough situation, someone needs to take time before deciding on what is the best not just rush into a conclusion, and in the end, you will regret your actions.

Yes, I concur with this.

We're all unique and it's good to see it's only on simple matters you seek advice from people, not everyone is that open or has the ability to open up thoroughly.

But then I love your idea of taking our time to think things through before making a decision.

Yes bro.

Thank you so much

Asking for other's opinion can be a very good approch to making a decision. All you have to do is gather the advice or information you've got and weight the options and their advantages.
