The first story you shared is so typical of elders. Haha. They are right and that's it. Even if you are a doctor and you are their son and you give them some medical advice, the would mostly see you like that same kid they were carrying on their back years ago. Haha. It's hilarious

As for the second story you shared, that's the wisdom and gut feeling that parents have especially when they are genuinely trying to make sure their child won't make a choice that will ruin their life.
