When I was in the village, the towns/cities attracted me the most, just like you! However, it wasn't only the attraction, there was reality too! To get the higher education, I needed to move to the urban areas.
I think, both places have it's advantages and disadvantages, as you have mentioned few. It depends on many factors which one to choose :)
It is easier to forgive yourself when you make some decisions in life and later realized that it was a mistake
