The first day of the year was fantastic. For many years, we had been celebrating the New Year with our office colleagues. Our office club would organize a party in a good nearby location, usually a nice hotel. Two years ago, I was transferred to another unit, so we missed out on the celebration last year. This year, we planned to visit Mumbai to celebrate the New Year with our old friends and colleagues. Another reason for the trip was that my kid was missing her old friends, so we decided to plan a seven-day vacation.
We arrived in Mumbai on the morning of the 30th. After resting for a bit, we visited one of our relatives. The next day, we had planned a family get-together with friends. However, when we met, we found out that the club had not arranged any celebration this year. The old committee had been dissolved, and new members had taken charge. They had contacted nearby hotels, but due to a poor response from club members, they were unable to finalize a deal. This was a really disappointment for us.
It was a sad moment for us since we were there specifically to celebrate the New Year, but the party had been canceled. We started exploring other options, and one of my friends suggested a place called Pawana Lake. We checked out the location pictures and searched online. We discovered that there were many event organizers around the lake who arranged nice get-together events for families and friends. We chose one called Pawana Blue Water Camping based on the positive experiences of someone we knew. They offered us a discount since we booked for three families. The package included three tent houses, snacks, dinner, breakfast, and a DJ party along with sports activities. The camping cost around $25 per person.
We arrived at the campsite in the evening around 4 PM, and they welcomed us with a drink. After meeting the event organizer, they offered us some snacks. We asked them to show us the tents so that we could unload our luggage. The view when we reached there was amazing, and we captured the beautiful moments. The sunset over the lake was truly breathtaking. Here are some pictures we took.
After enjoying the snacks, we headed towards the lake. The weather was slightly cooler, and the kids had a great time playing in the water. After spending some time there, we returned to our tents.
The children started participating in various activities. Some played carrom board, while others showcased their skills in archery. We also joined in and had a great time playing with them. While we were enjoying the activities, they started serving barbecue.
DJ Started around 8 PM and we moved to the dance area. It was the time so show some moves. I must say my kid @gurseerat enjoyed a lot along with her friends.
The cake cutting took place precisely at midnight, illuminating the sky with the burst of fireworks.

Post-midnight, we engaged in casual conversation and relished the cozy ambiance of the bonfire.
At first when it was looks like a bad decision to come to Mumbai for the New Year celebration when we heard about the cancellation of the party but when we spend time at Pawana Lake it looks like that we made a plan better then the previous years. It was worth to be their and celebrate with friends. Love to visit their again.
