Homemade Meals Versus Eating Out

Hello, everyone!

Welcome back to my blog.

So for today's prompt, I'll be sharing my perspective on homemade meals versus eating out. Let me quickly begin by saying that I thoroughly enjoy cooking anytime any day, despite its undeniable stress, I just love making use of my hands to make my own food and exploring new methods of cooking and new delicacies I haven't eaten before. For me, homemade meals are not only the best but also the most affordable option. As a student living off-campus, I find joy in purchasing ingredients in bulk and preparing meals myself especially in this current economy, you don't need someone to advise you to buy things in bulk and make your own meals. There's a sense of satisfaction and well-being that comes with enjoying a homemade meal. You have complete control over the portion sizes and ingredients, allowing you to eat to your satisfaction.

Yes, when I cook, I know exactly what goes into my dishes and ensure they are healthy and suitable for my body. I prefer cooking with raw ingredients, I will always choose natural ingredients over canned or refrigerated foods. My mom instilled in me the belief that natural spices are always superior to those canned ones, and thankfully, they're readily available in my country. Whether it's making soup or any other dish, I prioritize using fresh, raw vegetables, unlike the uncertainty that comes with eating out, one of the reasons I'm into farming. Even when I don't have enough space I will use the Seedbed method to make sure I plant at least vegetables and some spices.

Another reason I will always prefer homemade meals is the numerous disappointments I've faced at restaurants. Oftentimes the dishes don't make up to my expectations from the tantalizing images displayed on billboards or menus. It's disheartening to order something based on a picture, only to receive a different version of it. Many restaurants rely on online images to attract customers, but the actual quality of the food may not match the advertisement.

However, there are times when I crave the experience of dining out. You know that feeling of just wanting to sit and relax while you're served, I usually like the feeling outside though, it makes someone feel special sometimes. Whether it's a lack of cooking material because there are some foods I can't make based on the fact I don't have the machine to do so or sometimes it's just specific craving for a dish like grilled chicken, shawarma, pizza there are occasions when eating out becomes necessary. Additionally, dining out can be enjoyable, especially when shared with friends and loved ones, that fun is always heavenly, you can use the opportunity to take good pictures to create lasting memories.

In conclusion,

while making my my own meals offers me full control of what I get to eat and how I eat them, it's also very affordability compare to eating out and get get full satisfaction, dining out provides variety and social enjoyment. Ultimately, both options have their place in my culinary journey.

Your mom's wisdom about spices is spot on - nothing beats the flavor of those aromatic herbs and spices straight from the garden (or farm in your case).

I hear you on the disappointment of eating out and not getting what you expected. It's just that eating out with friends and loved ones, and sharing memories makes living worthwhile.
