This point you raised is so valid, I also find that annoying sometimes. Especially in the times of urgency like the example you gave. Thanks for this thoughtful post.

It's so good people are relating to this.
The thing is so annoying.
Oftentimes, I would prefer to use my airtime to call make a phone call to them directly....this too, if the automated response is drunk that day, it's not going to be funny 😂
