Hello my dear friends, welcome back to my blog today for this week's edition. I'm sure we are great we ever we are.
Transportation is one of good things that has happened to us in this life. Sometimes I do wonder what it was like back then when there was nothing like transportation. All thanks to technology. If not for technology maybe by now we will still be stuck in the kind of life that our parents lived. They all moved from one place to another on foot. Sometimes sleeping on the road and will continue their journey the following morning. A journey that will last for seven to eight hours today lasted for three to four days back then. When ever I think of it I will always see reasons to thank God because I wasn't in that generation. Hahaha 😂😂. I believe that I am not selfish? Or do you think that I am? I don't think so because I don't even know how I would have survived it.
Leading to the topic of the day looking at transportation in Nigeria, I don't know where to start from. The problem we are facing here in transportation has no limit. We face different problems. I don't even know the color and height and also the size of transportation problem is this country.
The problems of transportation is ranging from bad road, bad government, cost of petrol, bad traffic or not even having traffic lights in some cases.
Maybe all of these would have not been there if we have a good government over us. Because I see everything boiling back to bad government. If the government is doing it's work properly, seeing to it that all the good is worked upon and the traffic lights all over fixed, then making sure that the price of patrol is controlled and not everyone selling the way he or she likes. The government does not want to know what people are suffering on the road because most of them go by air. They don't always follow the same road that we are following everyday. Only the poor masses are going through all the pian.
The last time I traveled from the Northern region where I reside to the Easter region where I was born, it took almost a whole day before we got to our destination. Years back it will just dew hours and you will get to your destination. When it started we thought that it will be fixed as our politicians promised. But before our very eyes our roads kept going from bad to worse. We never knew that it will come to this level. We see people die every day on our road because the road is very bad and no one cares what happens to them. The highest thing that will happen is that the government will keep awarding project for the road to be repaired, but the money will be spent on something else that does not have any positive impact on the people. Recently we had a little repair on the road but it is nothing to compare to the amount of money that is brought out for it.
In conclusion, both the government and the people have a hand in what the bad road because even when the government award a contract for road repairs, the people involved will share the money amongst themselves and we will all continue to suffer.
