Spending more time on my phone than expected. What is the solution

in Hive Learners7 months ago

What a generation of phone. We eat, sleep, talk, answer questions, cook food, go the church, walk on the street with our phones. Welcome back to my blog for the last edition of week 107.

We are in a generation where people spend more time on their phone than they get to spend on any. Some use their phone for the good purpose while some people use it for the bad purpose. But which ever way, we spend most of our time on our phone on daily basis.

Coming to myself, I don't know what to say. Am I really doing well when it comes to the time I spend on my phone?

What's my screen time?
I decided to go to settings today and check how many hours I have spent today on my phone. Guess what I saw?

Because I was too busy today I didn't have time for my phone that is the reason why I spent only two hours plus on my phone. On a normal day I spend more than ten hours on my phone every day. Though is not all at the same time, but I know that I do alot of work on my phone on daily basis.
Considering the time that I spend on wasup. The time on Facebook, and what have you. The major social media platform that I spend my time is hive Blockchain. Since I discovered that I just spend time on some of these social media platform without any financial benefits, I pay less attention to some. I concentrate on hive. The reason is that aside from the financial benefits that I get from hive, I learn alot through reading other people's posts. It has helped to shape me on how to write correctly even though I know that learning is still very much taking place.

My up-voting others I get paid. Also when I comment and reblog I also get paid. These and many more makes me to stick to hive Blockchain. When I get any little time I rush to my blog to respond to others while also checking out their post to learn one or two things.

Can the time I spend on my screen be regulated?
Sometimes I think that the reason why I spend more time than I should is because I have not mapped out time for using my phone. I know that it is possible to reduce the time that I use by using on the phone only when I needed it. Not just to pick the phone when I want, but to get time for it.

My little advice to newbies.
Just like I have stated at the beginning that time needs to be allocated to using our phones.

Self discipline: When there is no self discipline one will be with the phone for hours and will not even remember to eat.

Having enough time to rest: operating our phones these days have made is not to consider resting at the right time, but for our own good we need to rest more often. This is another serious solution to this problem.

Thanks for coming around. I wish all my friends a very happy Easter in advance.

We humans are now addicted to our phones because it has all we need, it gives us joy, it earn us money and much more... if you are spending less than 3 hours on your phone, then i think yours is still better

You have said it all @adaezeinchrist. One's phone can be beneficial and distracting at the same time, all we need to do is to put it in good use. As part of my resolution for this year, I have deleted every social media application I had on my phone apart from WhatsApp, Twitter, Ececy, Discord and Keychain. I have come to realise that these are the ones that really beneficial to me, every other ones are just distractions

We're in a time where our device has become our first point of necessity and this brings about spending time on it.

It's great to see you try to devote most of your time here to yeild interest rather than where little is gotten from time spent.

Taking a break and rest is a great tip to reduce our screen time.
