To protect means sometimes to fight for, to defend, to speak for, and also to give a loved one what belongs to you. It is very unfortunate that we live in a world that we only think of ourselves in most situations.
Friends the last topic for week 106, edition 3 puts us in a very tight corner. It is actually bringing us to the place where we should be as humans. We are meant to stand for each other, speak for others that we love. And this is what I see the topic doing.
As a mother all I see in my children is love that propels me to protect them. I see them like that because they are vulnerable. They can be destroyed by the enemy and they won't know. They are too innocent that they believe everyone and everything they hear. They can just jump into any ones arm and think that they are saved. That is where our work comes in. The work of protecting them from wolves in sheep clothing.
I had a very good experience that I would love to share. When my daughter was growing up. Very young and tender. I saw the possibility of she been harm by this boys around just looking for innocent girls to destroy their destinies. What I did at first was to make sure that I give her all Education she needs regarding the danger ahead. But I discovered that all my advice fail on deaf ears. She actually thought that I was not understanding what's up. Maybe she thought that this woman is old school, so let me just forget about her old school teaching and live my life the way I want it.
When I saw that she was not understanding me, I took time to fast and pray that God will open her eyes to see the danger ahead. I noticed that the more I pray, the worse she was becoming. I suddenly became afraid of what might happen to her if she continues like that. She was just sixteen and what if she becomes pregnant at this age.
ONE FAITHFUL DAY I DID SOMETHING THAT WORKED
When I made my inquiries about the boy in question, and I was told that I can only get him at home by 8pm. I decided to pay the boy a visit. I left my house without informing any body what I want to do and where I was going to. I took a bike to his house and he was not there so I had to wait for him. I collected his number from his neighbor and called him to come home. When he came back he was shocked to see me waiting for him. I took almost two hours talking to him about what they are about embarking on with my daughter and the consequences. I also told him about Christ and the need for him to surrender his life to Jesus. After all said and done, he gave his life to Christ and I prayed for him. That was the end of his relationship with my daughter. The next time she saw him he was with his bible and was not even interested in their relationship anymore. She told me that herself. That was how my girl came back to her senses and focused on her Education.
It was a battle, also very risky to move out of my house at that time of the night. God gave me victory. Today if my daughter remember that boy she just laugh at herself and ask me what she was even thinking going out with a little boy like that. She is so happy today because of what I did and I am happy too Because my daughter is fine now.
