Presently, while writing this, i am wet as a result of the heat and hot weather we are experiencing right now. I keep sweating so bad even while I have all of my windows open. But there is kind of a friendly environment outside, staying indoor is what causes the commotion. The more congested your apartment is, the more you feel it.
The change in weather conditions is no one's choice or no one's plans, we can't tell when it should rain or when it shouldn't. We just have to dance to the tune it plays. Even if we complain and rant everyday, that won't change anything.
One funny aspect about the weather conditions is that it's perfect to some people, like their prayer points being answered and to some it’s extremely unfair, like their prayers were not answered.
An example of a farmer and a contractor. A contractor would always find pleasure in the dry weather, so they can actually get all they want to have done, but on the farmers end, it's like an unanswered prayer because the farmer needs rain so bad for his crops and vice versa.
In Nigeria where I reside presently, we are experiencing the mixed weather. It can be cold today, due to the harmattan, then get heated up tomorrow, and rain falling the next day. I really can't say exactly what kind of weather condition we are having presently.
Though the rainy season is fast approaching because here in our area it rained yesterday and that was like an introduction to the rainy season. When it was about to rain everyone got so happy to experience it, they never knew that once the rain ends and it doesn’t rain for a few more days then the heat would even get worse.
One thing I enjoyed about the rain was that it washed, at least to some extent, all of the dust that had sediment over the harmattan season. Even our dusty roads got their dust reduced.
But to be considerate about the present weather condition, if it were to be calculated based on seasonal changes, at this time of the year it should have rained before now and then we experienced proper rainfall starting March which is next month.
The rainy season can be as long as 6 or 7 months, which should be from March till August or probably Early September. That's the normal season for rainfall. And during this time all of the farmers make plans to utilize the natural water on their crops before they start irrigation.
As for the dry Or harmattan season, that should start right from late September till the end of February, and during these periods, we have the full harmattan in November, December and January.
The strange thing that happened last year which got everyone amazed was that the rain continued to fall till almost the end of the year. As at early December last year it was still raining and it should have stopped in September. So this stood as a factor for the late harmattan and delay in rainfall this year.
Though all of these are just mere predictions. No one can say exactly what the weather condition will be for a day throughout the year. Weather forecasters are just trying their best. They are not so accurate. There are times when they forecast a rainstorm, the sky might get so cloudy but it won't even rain at all instead there would be sunshine all through.
