Caterpillars are one of the worst maize plant destroyers. We usually grow maize. Caterpillars gives us much troubles because they can destroy a whole lot from the maize. They feed on the maize plant from the tender little plant to the matured seed.

At tender shoot, the caterpillars climb the plant and eat the leaves. They eat the leaves to the extent that the plant can die. This is very destructive. We overcome this if the rain falls heavily. The rain washes away the caterpillars and other insects. We can also use insecticide and others pesticides.

When the maize plant carries the cob, the caterpillars also invade the cob and eat the seeds. Caterpillars are very destructive to our maize plant.

In the storage, caterpillars still invade and destroy the maize seeds.
