Gina awoke that morning and was a bit disturbed, she had been having nightmares during the night. This did not seem strange to her, as the day before she had attended a family reunion and it had not been easy. She smiled as she brushed her teeth, remembering all the strange things her family had done at the reunion. In family groups there were usually one or two odd characters, but in her family almost everyone was peculiar.

He paused for a moment when he remembered Cousin Antoinette. Undoubtedly the strangest of them all. The day before during the reunion she had been mumbling things in the corners, the others just laughing, but Gina had come over to make conversation.

"Antoinette, long time no see what have you been doing with your life?"

"I can help you with your problem cousin."

"What do you say? I don't have a problem, I just wanted to say hello."

"Of course you have one and it's pretty big. Your coffee addiction."

"I'm not addicted to coffee Antoinette, I don't need help. I was trying to be nice but... anyway, I'll go with the others."

She remembered that strange conversation and shook her head, but immediately another image came into her head. Then Antoinette was chasing her and mumbling things near her coffee cup.

"That it can help me with my problem Ha! I don't think so, coffee is no addiction, it's a lifestyle," Gina said out loud despite being home alone.

In the kitchen she made herself a pot of coffee as she got ready to go to work. She drank briskly from her cup until it was empty and headed to the garage in search of her motorcycle. But it wouldn't start, she tried everything, but the bike was undeniably broken. She was overwhelmed at the thought of being late for work.

She called a cab and left her house trying not to be late. She carried her briefcase and her to-go cup of coffee. Everything seemed to be flowing, she took a deep breath and sipped some coffee. At the precise moment the hot liquid went down her throat the car jerked abruptly as a noise echoed down the street. Gina's coffee was spilled all over his pants. She sat up and looked around, another car had hit the cab. Now there was a traffic jam in the avenue caused by the accident, she would have to walk a long way, with her clothes stained with coffee.

He began to walk and felt his heart beating fast, he could not believe that all this was happening to him. In his hand he still held the cup of coffee with what was left, just a sip. She looked at it and without thinking she drank it all at once. At that very moment it started to rain. Gina threw the cup on the ground, this was the last straw, now she would be late, dirty and wet for work.

She started walking faster and a storm of thoughts clouded her head. Every time she had had coffee something bad had happened. What if it was about what her cousin Antoinette had said.

"She said it would help me with my coffee addiction. If something bad happens to me every time I drink it I'll eventually stop drinking it."

The more he thought, the faster he walked. And the further she went the more she became convinced that Antoinette had cast a spell on her.

"That's why she was muttering near my coffee. She was casting her curses."

She arrived at work a mess. She gave the appropriate explanations and began her day. During the day she often felt like drinking coffee, but the thought that her day was going to get worse made her craving for it worse. She drank a lot of water and went to the bathroom many times to contain her anxiety. When the day was over Gina felt defeated, exhausted and very sleepy. Her hands were shaking and she was in a bad mood.

He had a lightbulb moment and thought that maybe Antoinette was right, he seemed to have a problem with coffee.

"I'm having withdrawal."

He left his work and passed in front of a coffee shop, he stopped for a moment to look. She thought that since she had stopped drinking coffee nothing bad had happened to her and experienced some panic at the thought that she would never be able to drink coffee again. Suddenly a jolt of courage pushed her inside the coffee shop.

"I wouldn't let any strange cousin control my life."

She ordered the biggest, most loaded coffee there was, headed for the door and exited the place. She slowly drank her divine balm and felt it go through her throat, it seemed to her that life made sense again. She looked around and to make sure everything was okay, nothing bad was happening. She laughed at herself at the thought that a curse in the cafe was possible. She walked two steps and a low flying pigeon defecated on her and its debris fell into the coffee cup.

Gina was perplexed, she couldn't believe it, could that be possible, was she really cursed, every time she drank coffee would she have to be prepared for some inevitable disaster?

She continued walking while drinking from the coffee cup without giving the slightest importance to the fact that a few seconds before a pigeon had defecated on it.

"If something bad will happen every time I drink it, well, I'll just have to get used to it."

It is a terrible punishment, not being able to enjoy what we like most because of a curse, in the end the girl preferred her coffee and continue with the bad luck.

Thanks for sharing your coffee story with us.☕

Good day.

A terrible curse!!! but apparently nothing will keep her from coffee. Thanks for visiting and commenting. Greetings

Hahaha I like the attitude! Maybe after a while you'd just get used to all the inconveniences...

But sheesh, Antoinette sure is pushy with her opinions to lay such a curse on you! 😵 Thanks for the fun read!
