A loving greeting to all my Hive friends, especially to the coffee lovers. Today I want to share with you a wonderful experience tasting some delicious chocolate bonbons filled with coffee, at the expo-cacao in my region. The state of Táchira, in the southwest of Venezuela, is characterized by its great production of coffee and cocoa. So in a cocoa expo-fair, coffee could not be missing. Besides, for some people, including me, coffee and cocoa can be the perfect marriage.
When my dear @aly.squid and I arrived, we were pleased to see many places selling chocolates. There were also sales of other things typical of the Andean region, such as strawberries with cream and handmade yogurt. But we were very clear about what we were looking for, the popular chocolates filled with coffee.
The Andean region, being the most important coffee producing region of the country, uses coffee in many traditional products or dishes. Such as coffee desserts or alcoholic beverages with coffee, chocolates filled with coffee are also very common. So being at the Expo-cacao, we started looking for which of the vendors would have the much desired coffee filled chocolates. We saw several options, until we finally came to a small stand whose producers came from Vigia, a neighboring town of Tachira, but also from the Andean region. These wonderful producers had three types of chocolates filled with coffee and for only 1$ each.
One of the chocolates was not filled as such, the coffee was simply mixed with the chocolate, which gave it a consistent and intense flavor. This was without a doubt my favorite. The next one was filled with a delicious coffee cream, I spent a lot of time because the flavors entered the mouth separately, but at some point they were integrated in the bite and again the coffee and chocolate were together showing off, of course, this one was much sweeter than the first one. Lastly I enjoyed the bonbon filled with coffee cream with nuts, this was a spectacle of flavors.
I really feel fortunate to live in a coffee and cocoa producing region, because tasting so many flavors from our own land is not only delicious, but has a great mystique of connection with the land.
I loved being at the expo-cacao and getting the coffee chocolates I was looking for. I really enjoyed each flavor and above all to record it for you. I hope to be here soon, sharing another coffee experience. I say goodbye with a big hug.
