Olive oil is generally fine for cooking. I believe lighter olive oil is better for higher temperature cooking. As with any oil you cook with, you have to watch the smoke point but if you are cooking on medium to medium-high heat, it's generally going to be ok.

Thats good to know. I heard just that it is bad for you but maybe it isnt so bad if the smoke point is higher.
