I want to talk about one of my personal sources of energy for our domestic use at home. I still remember what my basic science teacher taught me in elementary school😍😃 We were taught that Energy is the ability to do work. That is, energy enable us to do both domestic and official work.

There are several types of work that we do at home. One of such is cooking. We need heat energy to prepare meals for the family. We also need energy to light our lamps and to operate some household appliances. My focus is on the heat energy generated locally for cooking food.

The object in my image is that of charcoal. Charcoal is our major source of energy for cooking and preparing confectionaries at home. Charcoal is about to cheapest source of heat energy for domestic use. We could also use the charcoal to generate heat for house warming in cold winter seasons. Even some pressing iron for ironing clothes make use of charcoal.

Charcoal energy is not very hazardous when lighted properly. It is not good to light the charcoal and use it in the room where there is limited supply of air. Such practice can generate carbon (II) oxide which is harmful to health. We usually use our charcoal pot outside in the open where there is free air supply.

Charcoal is obtained under control burning of wood. The wood is usually cover with sand and then allowed to burn anaerobically. We use charcoal pot to burn the charcoal and generate the heat needed.
