Today I was privileged to visit my plantain farm so as to determine the progress of my plants. As I strolled through the long green, fresh and fresh plantain trees, it was a surprise to find that one of my specimens was loaded with fruit. Feeling joyous about the thought that I may harvest these fruits soon, I got a little closer to the plant and noticed that the mass of the fruit was making the stem to bow down.
Feeling the stalks could snap under the weight of the fruit, I hurried to look for an answer. I remembered getting a firm bamboo stick I use for overhead work while I was in my tool shed and I acknowledged that it would be very useful to prop up the plant. Very cautiously, I placed the bamboo stick right besides the plant and with care twined the stem to the stick, increase was needed here.
Looking at the final result I felt a good surprise and some layer of pride for having been able to solve the problem without confronting anyone. This was a uniqueness I was reminded on the need to often monitor the plants and be hands on in case something goes wrong.
Knowing that the plant is now well supported I am sure that it will continue developing and bearing ripe and tasty plantains. I felt at harvest time contented and thankfulness was in my heart to be given the chance to cultivate and to nurture my plant and in due time I shall have my reward. The next time you go to your plants, make sure to provide them with the help they need to grow.
