Yes, most shops are family-owned, and residents of our town. I have not been shopping in malls and big-box stores for a while now. Everything I will ever need is in this town. Except gold!

My hometown is hard to shop at the small places because it is a corporate town and kind of uppity, so most everything is higher end and out of our price range.
