I Got A Few Monopoly Games

in GEMS3 months ago

I've still been floating around the shops to see what's about, and I've picked up a couple of versions of Monopoly. Quality varies, but the versions are fairly good.

Starting off here, with the Stranger Things addition.

I was actually so close to not picking this one up, due to the damage to the front of the box, because I figured if it was this beaten up, it may not have all of the pieces. For €3 though, I decided to just go for it.

Stranger Things is a good TV show, and things like this can do well when something new comes out and a new season is coming out in a few months. If it's good, there will be a spike in people buying stuff like this, so I will hold onto it until then, and then list it.

The only problem is, that one of the player pieces is missing, which is a shame and will have a major effect on the price.

I bought this one at the same time I bought the Stranger Things edition.

It was a toss up between both of them, and I decided to go with this one in the end, because the box was in good shape.

They were both €3, so I was fairly happy with the price. Luckily for me, judging the box by its condition was a good call, because this one has all of its pieces, and they're all in good working order.

I don't have boxes big enough to ship, board games, so I'll be holding off for a while before listing these items.

I saw this today in one of the shops, and instantly picked it up.

This was €10, a bit steep, but after looking over the box, I noticed that Disney wasn't written anywhere, so I made an assumption that this was pre-Disney, and at that, pre-2012. Not that old = valuable, but in good complete condition it can.

For €10, I was praying that it was worth something and complete, and luckily for me, it seems to all be here. All of the player pieces are anyway. The game itself doesn't seem to really go for all that much only, but no biggie, because I actually bought it for myself.

My first thought was, I want it, and my second thought was, I wonder if it's worth something and if I can sell it.

It's not overly valuable, so I might put it up for €40, and if it sells I'll let it go, and if it doesn't, I don't mind.

The player pieces are all here, and they look really cool.

They're pretty large, and they have a fair bit of weight to them. The detailing of the figures isn't the best, but you can tell who everyone is at a passing glance. So, all in all, it's fairly cool.

I really like the houses/ hotel pieces, they're little Star Wars inspired buildings, Tatooine and Coruscant by the look of them.

The Stranger Things, and Cheaters versions just have regular old red and green buildings, but I like seeing sets that have unique pieces such as these.

All in all, €16 for three fairly cool Monopoly sets, which have a collective value of €65, which is a fairly decent markup.

Wow, i didn't know that these are collectables

The only problem is, that one of the player pieces is missing, which is a shame and will have a major effect on the price.

You might be able to get that piece alone on Ebay! Might be worth it! I'd check it out!

I've only played the standard one. Do these have much difference? I guess the 'streets' have appropriate names. I'm not that big a fan of Monopoly as a game. I know there are loads of themed sets.
