Last Easter my son was born, and I can't believe it has already nearly been 1 full year since then.
Where does the time go? I never really understood that saying until this year. While sometimes I used to look back and think about how long ago certain things were. My band's first album was in 2016, for example, but doesn't feel that long ago. I joined college in 2015, and me and Aimee got together in 2013.
Each of those things doesn't feel like a long time ago, but also, I also know that so much has happened since then. Whereas this past year, literally only feels like a couple of months have gone by.
Aimee got me a Ferrero Rocher egg, which I'm delighted about. I don't eat a lot of chocolate, so eggs tend to last me a few weeks.
It came with 6 of these mini Ferrero's in them, and I had a brain spark while staring at them.
I hadn't eaten anything and didn't want to horse into chocolate straight away, but I did notice some toaster pancakes in the fridge.
I crushed the two of them up... well, I attempted to cut them up gently, but the wafer couldn't really withstand the pressure, and ended up looking like a bit of a mess.
When the pancakes were done I put a bit of butter on them and transferred the messy chocolate wafer bits onto them. They started to melt in slightly with heat.
I have to say, that was the best decision I made recently because it tasted great.
It's not a competition, but if Easter was, I won. Sorry everyone, better luck next year.
I don't know what it was about Ferrero Rocher, maybe it was the gold foil, and the little paper cup they come in, I'm not sure. But, when I was a kid, I remember believing that they were the height of luxury.
Back then, if I was given one, I'd gently unwrap it and savour every bite. Now though, I crush them up and spread them on pancakes.
The little man got a Baby Yoda teddy for today and seemed to like him. We also got him a little outfit for today.
It's going to be fun, we're going out around 3 o'clock for some food. The only problem is, there are 15 adults and 2 babies, and none of the pubs are taking bookings, so we have to just get down there and hope we can get a table... or two... or three.
We also got him a little Paw Petrol Egg, which came with a cup, bowl, and spoon. He seemed to like it but was more interested in the box initially.
Such a fake fan, he doesn't even watch Paw Petrol, the phony.
He's going to be one on the 9th, and I can hardly believe it. He's a real little chunk now, and has taken a couple of steps without holding anything... he fell, but he keeps on trying so we don't think it'll be long now before he's running all over the place.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a nice Sunday and has enjoyed the bank holiday weekend.
Get out there, and eat plenty of chocolate for Jesus. Maybe have a pint for the Easter Bunny too.
