Good morning, y'all amazing people!
What's up, everyone? Long time no chat! Life's been a whirlwind lately—like trying to juggle a dozen flaming torches while riding a unicycle! I've been missing in action from Hive for a bit, thanks to the chaos. A few of my Hive friends slid into my DMs on Facebook, checking in to see if I'm still kickin'. I reassured them that I was alive and kickin', just drowning in a sea of busyness. My husband and I have been on a wild goose chase sorting out paperwork for our latest venture. Here's a little teaser: we're diving into space rental with a twist—think more glamping vibes and less cookie-cutter accommodations. Our town is a hotspot for tourists, especially adrenaline junkies looking to catch some waves since we're the surfing capital of our region. Every weekend and holiday, it's like a migration of explorers seeking places to crash, from fancy hotels to cozy accommodations to pitching tents under the stars. So, we decided to scout for a spot where we could carve out our little haven for adventurers. Let me tell you, the hunt for the perfect location has been a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows, twists and turns!
Alright, buckle up, because this is where the real adventure begins!
Last month was a whirlwind of scouting. We were like treasure hunters on a quest for the perfect spot to set up shop. And guess what? We struck gold! We found a prime piece of land, right on the beach, with easy access for those beach bum vibes. Plus, it's a stone's throw from the highway, making it a total breeze for tourists to find us.
Our contractor buddy recommended this spot. So, we met up with him and the landowner, who just happens to be his best friend. But here's where things got a little dicey. The lot was already occupied by another camp business, but the current tenant was a bit behind on his rent (to the tune of a whopping $2000!). The landowner was ready to boot the guy and hand us the keys. We were so psyched, that we started dreaming up all the amazing things we'd build on that beachfront paradise. My husband was just starting a two-week vacation and be back in the US in another week, and we were counting down the days until we could officially call that lot ours.
But hold your horses, my friends! Just when we thought we were in the clear, the current tenant decided to pull a fast one. He coughed up the rest of his rent, effectively blocking our path to paradise. Talk about a gut punch! Plan A was a bummer, but we're not giving up that easily. Plan B is in motion, and I'll spill all the juicy details in my next blog post probably. Stay tuned for the next chapter in our beachside adventure!
We're standing on this amazing piece of land, salty air whipping through our hair, and we're surrounded by the most incredible view. It's like stepping into a postcard. So, I'm going to share a few snaps I took while we were there. There's this super chill campsite tucked away at the back of the lot, facing the beach. It's all about those classic Filipino vibes, with colorful teepees—we call them "Kubo"—nestled under the shade of swaying palm trees. And then there's the beach, the star of the show. It's so serene, it's almost impossible not to feel relaxed just looking at it.
But, as they say, "it is what it is." We had to move on and try our luck elsewhere. Sometimes, things don't work out the way we planned, but that's just part of the adventure, right? Until next time, my friends! Stay tuned for more updates on our epic quest for the perfect beachside haven.
P.S. I'll be sure to post those photos soon! You'll have to check back for the visual feast.
